The Animal Industries Resource Centre has the pleasure of offering recognition to students and mentors who have demonstrated outstanding qualities throughout the year.
Nominations have closed for 2012, but keep these awards in mind for 2013! Nominations will open in late 2013.
Student Excellence Awards (Terms and Conditions)
This award is open to all AIRC students who have completed any of the following qualifications between August 2011- September 2012:
Certificate II in Animal Studies, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, Clinical Thinking Veterinary Nursing Technician/Clinical Thinking Veterinary Nursing Manager and Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
Students must also meet the following criteria to be nominated:
- Is a role model to other students
- Is willing to learn and facilitate self development
- Progressed through studies demonstrating professionalism in attitude, skills and knowledge
- Upholds AIRC professional standards
- Demonstrates support for the industry/ is a member of the VNCA
- Is actively involved within the veterinary industry
- Is currently working in the industry
Mentors, Employers, Practice Managers, Personal Training Consultants, Trainers and Lecturers are able to nominate students who they think is deserving of recognition. Self-nominations will not be considered. You must write why you think they are deserving of this award (maximum 200 words).
One nominated student in each state will receive a recognition award. One student will be recognised nationally and internationally as AIRC's Most Outstanding Student for 2012.
*Nominators and nominees will be responsible for funding their own registration and attendance to the AIRC graduation.
Mentor Excellence Award (Terms and Conditions)
Mentoring requires someone with the ability to build and nurture relationships while facilitating learning and promoting growth.
This award is open to all mentors who are registered with AIRC, who are assisting students in the following courses:
- Certificate II in Animal Studies, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, Clinical Thinking Veterinary Nursing and Clinical Thinking Veterinary Nursing Manager.
The nominated mentor should also meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Demonstrates the ability to build and nurture the learning relationship with the student
- Is a role model
- Promotes growth within the trainee and other staff
- Facilitates learning and provides resources
- Creates an atmosphere where people are encouraged to learn
- Encourages self-development and continuing education of the student
- Nurtures confidence and encourages competence
Self-nominations will not be considered. You must write why you think they are deserving of this award (maximum 200 words). One nominated mentor will receive an award at each of the state graduations.
